New Release Day at Whimsie Doodles!

It is the 5th of the month and time for the new Whimsie Doodles release. This is my first month as a Doodlelicious Diva, and I am super excited!! Melyssa has created some awesome images for July, and Miyako with fan is the image I chose to use on today's card. There are two Miyako images in July's release along with many other super cute images.

To create my Miyako card I printed it on Papertrey Ink cardstock. I printed the image a second time on the white and gold mulberry paper so I could paper piece her kimono and fan. I colored the image with Copic markers including the mulberry paper on the fan. The pattern paper is from Stemma (Asian Pear Blossom). I used a punch for the scalloped edge, and the bird is a Quickutz die. I covered the fan and her eyes with Glossy Accents. To finish off the card I added ribbon, a small button, and a fan shaped charm (from an earring kit).

Be sure to visit the Whimsie Doodles blog to see the other images and then check out the Whimsie Doodles store. The store offers digital images, rubber stamps, and cut files. On the right side of my blog there is a list of the Doodlelicous Divas. When you click on a name you will be directed to that Design Team member's blog. Be sure to visit each blog to see what the Divas created with July's release. These ladies are quite talented, and you will get some great ideas!

I would not have thought about the earring. Now I must be on the lookout for stray ones. Love the card.
