CHA Release Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Your Next Stamp CHA Release BLOG HOP!

We are so excited here at YNS because Karen has taken YNS to CHA for the very first time! That's right, as you are reading this Karen will be at Winter 2011CHA at booth #4518! WOO-HOO!!

So to celebrate this event, YNS is releasing some fab new YNS stamps just in time for CHA. You may have caught a sneak peek of some of them last week over at the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog, but today you get to see all 9 World Kids stamps plus a fabulous new Celebrate Collection from HR Designs and
7 new mini stamps. These new stamps are available to buy right now from the Your Next Stamp store along with all your YNS favorites.

Of course we couldn't let this release pass by without having a fun blog hop! We also have 4 fabulous guests joining us for our hop - the amazing Tori Wild, Cindy Haffner, Carole Burrage and Maylee Pham!

If you would like to participate in the hop and you didn't arrive here from Maylee's blog, please CLICK HERE to return to the start of the hop at Kerri's blog, as you don't want to miss these fab new releases!

The hop starts today (28 January 2011 at 08:00 EST) and ends on 2 February 2011at midnight EST.
As always here at Your Next Stamp, we have a wonderful prize for you to win! One lucky winner will be drawn at random from the links in the linky list to receive your choice of 3 of the new World Kids stamps!

You will see that every stop along the hop has a linky list - this is the SAME linky list posted on every blog, so that you can enter the prize draw from any stop (although we hope you will visit all the blogs on today's hop!). The linky will update itself on everyone's blog when a link isentered - how cool is that? Please remember to only enter your name ONCE into the linky list during the hop - you do NOT need to enter your name at every stop and multiple entries will be removed. It's not a requirement for you to comment at every stop along the hop to be eligible to be entered into the prize draw, but the DT would sure love to hear what you think of their new release creations!

Karen is also running some special bundle promotions, so be sure to hop on over to the YNS store once you've finished the hop. If you order all 9 World Kids stamps in one bundle, you will save 15% over the cost of buying them individually!

So onto my blog hop creation! For my card I used the Dutch World Kid. I knew there was a reason I had been hanging on to this K & Co. tulip paper from several years past. It worked perfectly with the Dutch girl.

For this side view I removed the bow so you could see the tulips in her hand. I like it better without the bow.

For this card I used Heather's (HR) pinata, banner, and confetti from the Celebrate Collection.
Here are close-ups of the pinata, banners, and confetti to which I added Stickles and Glossy Accent.

Here is a complete blog hop list in hopping order:

So now it's time for you to hop on over to Maureen's blog as she is the next stop on our hop, but I'd love it if you left me a comment before you go!

Thanks so much for hopping with us today! I hope you enjoy our new release!

Hugs, LC

Clean and Simple

Today's challenge (#31) for Your Next Stamp is from Jenny, and her challenge is to make a 'Clean and Simple' Christmas card. A 'clean and simple' card generally is one that has a great deal of open space, little or no embellishment, and can be duplicated very easily. This type of card is great for mass production.

You can check out the Your Next Stamp Challenge Blog to see the creations from the YNS Design Team Stars. We also have 2 guest designers, Melissa and Angela. You want to be sure to check out their creations for this challenge. Also on the blog you can read about the 2 prizes being awarded!

Here is my 'clean and simple' Christmas card. I used YNS Fhiona's Snowman.

Recipe:
Your Next Stamp 'Fhiona's Snowman'
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Papertrey Ink White Cardstock
Copic Markers
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Spellbinder Nestabilities
Bazzill Cardstock
Glossy Accents

When you have completed  your 'clean and simple' Christmas card be sure to link it to the YNS Challenge Blog in order to be considered for the prizes. We look forward to seeing what you design.

Thanks for stopping by! LC

$1 Stocking Stuffer

Are you like me? Do you enjoy looking through the $1 bins at Michaels and browsing down the aisles of the dollar stores? It's alot like going to the thrift stores. The idea is to look at items not as they are but as they could be. I constantly am looking for items that can be altered or re-purposed. Last week at Michaels for $1 I purchased a small box that held memo-sized sheets of paper. This is how I altered it.

I covered the box with patterned paper, tied a ribbon around it, and added a Your Next Stamp (Tea Time Fhiona) image to the back. I think it makes a cute little 'thank you' gift or a great stocking stuffer. Easy peasy!

Here are several blogs I want to share with you. These ladies are great 're-purposers'.
Check out Missy's re-purposing of a can for Christmas packaging HERE
Vicki does a great job of taking the usual and creating awesomeness. Check out her frame HERE
Nicki shows how to create Christmas gift wrap from a cereal box HERE

Thanks for stopping by. Check back tomorrow for more ideas on re-purposing and altering $1 store and thrift store finds. Don't forget to leave a comment! I appreciate it. LC

Borrowing an Idea (CASE)

Scrapbookers and cardmakers have been borrowing ideas from each other for years. In fact, many blogs, including mine, encourage others to take the ideas and run with them. Usually the stipulation is to give credit to the person you borrowed from; however, some bloggers ask that you not submit your creations to magazines. When you borrow an idea, be sure to check if the blogger has posted limitations on using their ideas.

So now you are asking why did I start this blog about borrowing ideas? Well......

Today's Your Next Stamp Challenge #30 is to CASE a YNS Design Team member. What is CASE?
CASE is an acronym for Copy And Share Everything. The idea is that you choose a specific piece of work and take inspiration from it. You can be very literal when CASEing and create an exact copy of the work you have chosen as inspiration. Alternatively, you can use the work you have chosen to copy as a starting point, lifting just one or two elements - e.g. the general style of the piece, or perhaps a colour.

For your YNS CASE creations, we would like you to....

1. Choose a YNS DT member (they are listed on the side of my blog)
2. Visit their blog
3. Pick one of their creations (past or present - any creation) that inspires you, and...
4. ...CASE it!

You can read more about the challenge HERE, which includes the DT CASE samples, information about the prizes, and  the link to post your creation.

Here is my CASE.

Happy Snow Day                 Tea Time Fhiona

Here is my inspiration from Kerri.

I am honored to discover that Maureen CASEd one of my cards. What a compliment! Thanks Maureen!

I look forward to seeing your creations! Thanks for stopping by. LC

I'm Back!

I had the best visit with my BFF. We shopped, watched movies, ate, crafted, played with her little boys, visited her family members, ate some more, shopped some more, watched reality tv...did I mention we ate and shopped!! I didn't take many pictures, but here is one I want to share.

This is her grandson, Mason, playing in the jelly cupboard. Isn't he a doll?! He was so much fun!
I also visited with the older boys, Alex and Brandon. I watched Brandon climb trees.
Here is a card I am going to mail to the older boys on Monday.
The image is from Your Next Stamp. It is called 'Best Buds'.

Karen, owner and designer for Your Next Stamp, has decided to retire some of her stamp sets. The discount is a whopping 60% so this is a great time to get some of your favorites. Here is the link to the retiring sets. Check out Rainy Day Fhiona, Get Well Soon, and Bad Hair Day...they are SO cute!! The sale ends September 30th...better hurry on over!

Here is a quick card I created using YNS's Hedgie Family....out for a fall walk; however, I just noticed the grass is a bit green for fall. Oh well...that happens!
