Today's Magnolia-licious Inspiration Challenge is issued by Cabio. Here is the inspiration photo for the challenge:
What do you see in this photo that inspires you to create? Is it the beige tones, the yellow and orange flowers on the mantle, or the pink cloth on the table? Do you focus on the couch with the pillows, the brown rug, or the yellow walls? Those of you who love earth tones will have a delightful time with this inspiration.
I must admit this was a difficult challenge for me. I am not fond of beige, orange, or yellow. If you remember the 'Color Me Beautiful' by Carole Jackson 1980's trend of assigning seasonal tones to each person according to her skin and hair coloration, you know that I am a 'winter'. ( color analysis) My colors are bright and jewel-toned. There are no browns, oranges, yellows (except icy yellow) in my color palette. I think that is why this challenge was so 'challenging' for me.
Here is my challenge card:
Recipe for card:

"Just Sittin' Here Thinking of You" sentiment (inside)

Oh Linda!!
I have that book and took the class in Vancouver, BC all those years ago LOL.
I am a 'spring' gal myself and had a tough time with both challenges this month also. I am a pink girl for sure with all the other pastels thrown in for good measure.
What I love about your card is it's comfort factor. I could live in that room with Tilda no problem - even in these colours. Your wonderful window treatment, couch doily and cute cute pillow just draw me into it.
Tilda is beautifully coloured. Love your paper and special corner treatments.
Thanks for reminding me of a good time I had so many years ago.
Hugs, Candy
You do beautiful work Linda!!
Linda, the way you shadow the punched border really did made it look like a fancy raffle. Too cute. The cushion and doily for sofa lace trims are smart addition. Very creative way and intepretation of this photo :o)

Your card is so sweet Linda! Love your design and the scalloped punch above Tilda works perfectly as a curtain - so clever! Beautiful interpretation of the challenge photo! hugs, Angela ;)

Hey Linda - This card is sooooo cute and I love the window treatment - now that's pretty and the little pillow behind her back and the doily behind her head - sweet - so down home!

Hi Linda. Haven't seen that book but I've been told I'm winter too..hee hee. It took me a long time to come up with something for this challenge too. Love your take of the challenge. This Tilda is one of the very first Tilda's I bought--I still love her. Wonderful idea using the lace border punch for the ruffles--must remember that.
Hugs,
Norma

Hi Linda...another masterpiece, darlin'!! I love the whole scene you created...and I especially love the curtain valance...I swear, it looks REAL! Hugs.
